Wisdom

"As we age we are to become more wise.  At a certain age we call them wisdom years.  It is where we choose to be wise or dumb that is why it is called wisdom."  John Douillard.

Detoxifying Deodorant

Looking for a non-toxic all natural detoxifying deodorant?  If you head over to Body Unburdened and take a look they have a great recipe.  If you aren't looking for a cream I am thinking you can melt 1 oz. of bees wax to 3.5 oz. of coconut oil and pour into an old deodorant container and you would have a more solid cream.

Thank you Body Unburdened!!!

How To Beat Laziness

The problem of laziness.  How do we overcome it

One of the effective ways of overcoming this difficulty is by thinking deeply on the fact that YHWH is present everywhere and always, “And, behold, YHWH stands over him,” and “the whole world is full of His glory,” and He looks upon him and “searches his reins and heart” (to see) if he is serving Him as is fitting. Therefore, we must serve in His presence with awe and fear like one standing before the King.

The point is to remember that inasmuch as YHWH gives one the great gift of time and mental ability and one must not waste these great gifts given by Elohim. By way of illustration: Suppose a great and majestic king personally and graciously gave you a gift, and he stands by you, watching what you will do with it; what would it look like if you would drop it with complete disregard, and go out for a walk or engage in some other pastime, etc.? Surely it is unnecessary to emphasize to you this idea at greater length.

I will only add that the Satan is never lazy, and is very busy and industrious in his efforts to distract us from YHWH's service. Therefore, you must have a ready weapon with which to combat him.

Shalom!!!

Week Long Crazy of an Idea!

Pray for us!  Okay, it is nothing bad.  But my husband and I decided to do a week long of veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds.  That is it and nothing else.  No meat, no dairy, so sugar,  NO COFFEE!  We only drink decaf, but still.  We are into day 3 and well, I really would like something other than veggies, fruits, nuts or seeds. I know I will make it thru, but there has been some shaky times.  Like when last night my daughter had a piece of cake that I made over the weekend.  It is coconut cream cake.  It is so good.  Ok focus.  And oh, no bread!  No Bread!  Yesterday we went to Panera and had their french onion soup and the cashier asked me "chips, apple, or baguette?"  BAGUETTE!!!!!!!      "apple please",  I said.  Then, while eating a lady come over by us handing out small strawberry scones to people coming in and standing in line to order.  The whole time we sat there eating.  The Whole Time!  I made it thru.  I only have until Sunday.  But a small prayer would be appreciated.  Just a tiny one or a tiny bite of cake.

Treating Strep Throat Naturally

Solutions for Strep Throat – How to Treat Strep Throat Naturally

Apple Cider Vinegar - Perhaps the most effective method for strep throat treatment and known to help the body recover from countless conditions, apple cider vinegar really is an amazing liquid that could rid you of throat problems. Adding on to the many benefits of apple cider vinegar, you can help treat strep simply by gargling with the liquid after it has been diluted in a glass of warm water. The amount of ACV used may vary from person to person, but using 1-3 teaspoons in 8oz of water may be enough. You could always use a different amount, such as 1/4 cup of ACV in 16oz of water. This solution could work in as little as 30 minutes, but don’t be worried if it takes a bit longer. If you enjoy or can handle the taste, try mixing it with some water and sipping it throughout the day. Use raw organic apple cider vinegar with “the mother” for optimal results.

Vitamin C – Although vitamin C is widely known to cure scurvy, the vitamin can be taken to help combat viruses, stress, and promote health overall. Taking 1,000mg of quality vitamin C 3 times daily can produce amazing results, especially when combined with other solutions for treating strep throat.

Cayenne Pepper – Next to apple cider vinegar, cayenne is also one of the most revered natural remedies for strep and sore throat. Try taking some cayenne and mixing it in a small amount of water, or simply utilize the powder on its own. Then dip a Q-tip or some other usable brush into the solution and dab it on the back of your throat. You could also make a paste out of raw organic honey and cayenne pepper by mixing about 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper with the honey, and then rub the paste on the back of your throat – the health benefits of honey are also incredible. Alternatively, you could use fresh lemon juice for the mixture instead of warm water or honey.

The best part about the above options for strep throat treatment is that they also boost overall health – quite the opposite of pharmaceutical drugs.

**Note: Strep throat can be a more serious issue for children. If nothing seems to work, don’t hesitate to seek some medical attention.

Training Up A Dog

The other day we had someone stop by and our dog Brulee is not the warmest of dogs at first.  So I told the lady just leave him be, don't look at him, or talk to him.  It may take several visits before Brulee will warm up to someone.  Well, she  tried to let him out the back door and started talking to him.  Well, he didn't like that. He followed around our dinette table and started barking at her so she went around the way and he followed.  So JD picked him and put him in his kennel upstairs. After she left JD brought him down and I fussed at him calling him a bad puppy, bad bad puppy.  But off he went down the hall.  Well, he didn't like that.  The next thing I knew I hear him whining.  He was under the dinner table pouting.  So I called him over and out he comes.  He sits down in front of me and I lovingly tell him that what he did was wrong and that he is to be nice to our visitor and I don't want  him to do that anymore.  Then I tell him I am done you may go.  And off he goes happy as a lark.  I was kinda joking and serious at the same time.  It was like he understood.  But I still think he will be back in the kennel.

Shalom!!!
