Chaise Lounge

I have always wanted a chaise lounge. I mean really, really always wanted a chaise lounge.

Shabby Chic Chaise

But, well, they aren't cheap. For a chaise and the cushion you are talking over a thousand dollars. Not a problem it you have that kinda money. There are some really nice ones out there. Pottery Barn http://www.potterybarn.com/shop/outdoor/lounging-furniture-outdoor/chaises-outdoor/?page=viewall and Restoration Hardware http://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/category/collections.jsp?categoryId=cat1695095 are my favorites. But I live in reality in the World of Pindell.

But my Father up above has shown me favor. I receive newsletters from Lowe's about projects they offer and lo and behold one day in my mailbox, a chaise lounge for two. I was esctatic! Could you believe it? My husband said he would build me one, along with my boys. Althought they weren't as excited as I was to hear of the project.

Lowe's offers plans for a one person or two person http://www.lowes.com/cd_Sun+Chair_1272392683_ or www.lowescreativeideas.com/idea-library/SunChairForTwo0510.aspx I went and bought the cedar.  It is more expensive, but I want it to last. I was able to get most of the wood from Lowe's but I did have to make a two hour trip for the 2x4x8's. I was happy to do it. I was getting my own chaise lounge for a third of the price. Woo Hoo!  My husband and boys started on the chaise. It took them a couple of weekends but here it is!
Now I just need some inexpensive cushions and I am set.  I so look forward to Sabbath and resting on our new chaise lounge.

Blessings!!!

Our Very Own Chalkboard!

In our kitchen, in the dinette was  this white wall. It is so boring, boring, boring. I never knew what to do with this wall. As you can see for years it had nothing in that part of the kitchen.

Anna Caryn just looking cute!
Here are my children over the years posing for one thing or another and nothing there except for two pictures to finally fill a void I got tired of seeing. Ugh. But my brother who does home repair told me about Benjamin Moore Chalkboard Paint.
$16.99/quart and covers 100 sq. feet
Lightbulb! Ohhh! So my husband taped off a huge section of the wall and put on two coats and then he framed up the paint and it looks like we hung a huge chalkboard. I love it! It is like when you were a kid and sitting in class and you just wanted to be able to write whatever you wanted on the chalkboard, but your teacher wouldn't let you. Drag! But now I can write all over my very own chalkboard. Woo Hoo!

Before: prepping the wall

Renaissance man painting first coat

My husband had us all paint a little, he is so sweet. Please excuse my cell phone pictures. He was in a hurry so I just grabbed my cell. And well, duh, you would think I would have moved the ladder, but no. Isn't is a great ladder? LOL.

See our family calendar!

Doesn't it look like it has always been there!
This really is nice.  Every Sabbath we use for learning biblical hebrew, the commandments and whatever else we are learning.  Blessings!

Caledon State Park Trail

I would like to share with you a recent walk we took. It was at Caledon State Park in Virginia. Several times on our walk the wind would blow and the leaves would float down all around us. We had the best time.  Quiet time to talk, laugh and just enjoy our kids.  This is Boyd's Hole Trail.
Isn't it gorgeous?

We went on a Sunday and there was very little other people on the trail.

  The Fall colors was spectacular.

We actually came across a small snake curled up.  It was so small I actually thought it was a worm.

I can't wait to go back in the Spring.

                                                               Aren't they cute kids?

Blessings!!!
This is so funny!!! My thoughts are usually how long has it been since my kitchen floor has been mopped. I found this at marvelouskiddo.blogspot.com and had to share.   Blessings!
